May 06, 2014: New in SMITE: Osiris, Siege and New League System.
Osiris - Broken God of the Afterlife.

Beta Gamemode: Siege. New two lane conquest map with standard towers, phoenixes, and Titans as objectives. As a new feature, teams will earn points towards spawning Siege Weapons (like those in Arena) as they play.

New League System.

In Assault, you can now purchase a “re-roll” of your randomly selected god for 250 favor (or 25 gems). This is done in the match lobby.

Zeus nerfed (very slightly).

God Balancing and fixes.



Would have preferred a God swap feature in Assault but this is a decent option.

It'd be good if they fixed it properly. Game yesterday somebody changed from some non healer (cant remember who) to a hel and we didn't have a healer.

Semi luckily, I re-rolled from zhong to Guan so we at least had SOME balance but the game wasn't balancing healer vs healer.




Osiris has a pretty horrible poke skill, it seems to cast really fast. Was fucking annoying yesterday as really not used to it. Might check out some siege tonight.

Siege is good fun, I think I'm going to play a lot of it to build confidence for Conquest. The traditional jungler role doesn't really exist because there are no harpy camps and only two lanes, so it's a bit simpler than Conquest but still involves prowling through the jungle at times.

Agree with this three hundred million billion percent.

Not only is a broken (you can role a healer), it's yet more scope for retards to ruin the game. We had a nice balanced team earlier, then Ymir rerolls and gets AMC just before the timer runs out. Suddenly no front line. Woot.

May 14, 2014: New in SMITE: Dark Whisperer Insanity!
Ah Muzen Cab - Dark Whisperer skin.

Bastet - Night Prowler skin has been temporarily removed. Gems refunded.

General Gameplay - All healing reduction abilities on gods should now stack with healing reduction from items.

General fixes and balancing.

Bastet - Now only CC immune for 1s when using Pounce instead of the full duration. We can finally trap the bitch.

May 28, 2014: New in SMITE: Janus Crosses a New Threshold!
Janus, God of Portals and Transitions.

TSM Apollo Skin.

Wards now have skins.

Siege Game Mode is being tested in a 4v4 format (instead of 5v5).

The Character Builder is now accessed from the GOD screen instead of from its own menu selection on the top bar.

Fixed an issue in Assault where re-roll could give you a healer. Only healers can re-roll to another healer.

Root and Cripple are no longer considered Hard-CC.

Malice - Cost reduced from 3100 to 2900.
Additional damage increased from 60% to 75% of your total power over 3s.

The Executioner - Attack Speed increased from 20% to 25%.
Physical Protection reduction increased from 7% and an additional 5 points for 3 seconds to 8% plus an additional 6 points for 3 seconds.

Rage - Physical Power increased from 20 to 30.
No longer provides Attack Speed bonus.

Warrior Class Gods have been scaled back to make them crap “jack of all trade master of none”. Read: "You like them? We nerfed the shit out of them. Trololololol!"



Janus looks amazing! I can't wait to play him.

Not the Apollo skin i wanted but at least he has something different now.

They have ruined Rage. This makes me sad.

The warrior nerf / repositioning makes a ton of sense given the state of the meta. Guardians were not viable as supports. Warriors offer so much extra damage and mobility with similar CC and objective secure for a negligible trade off in toughness (and even that tradeoff is debatable - tried killing a tanky SWK with his ult up?).
It also has the advantage of helping to potentially bring burst heavy assassins back into the meta, who had all fallen of significantly recently in favour of warrior jungles or assassins with a team fight presence such as Bun Batz or Bastet.

Sure there will be a bunch of tweaks to get it right, but the general direction is definitely required. Be interesting to see how they play now. Herc and Chaac will still be super strong, tyr and odin were hit really hard though.

As for the impact on assault - all good news here as well. I honestly don't think I've ever had a warrior heavy set up in assault and not just destroyed the other team, especially with an Odin, they were too strong and had virtually no counters. The two hardest hit, Odin and Tyr. should both be viable, but cant just run round doing whatever they want any more.
The SWK nerf probably takes him right down the list for supports in 3v3 as well. Bacchus / Herc / Chaac to be top tier now?

New Smite patchnotes

New Chaac skin

Main highlights that impact us:

- Deserter changed. Basically it is harsher if you "desert" a game multiple times within the same 24 hours.
- You can now trade gods in assault - woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
- You can now move and are CC immune during the 37 weeks it takes to channel a Janus ult
- Scylla still OP
- Herc remodel (the recolour looks really cool now), complete with tiny fucking head for some reason???
- New super badass Chaac skin
- Xba skin pack, 2 x footballer skins and the football ward skin (cool people only)

Rama patch notes - 24/06/14

Highlights:

Gods:

New god is a hunter, looks interesting. Does stuff with arrows, yo.

Scylla - minor nerf to her root / cripple - times reduced slightly. Still ample time to rape your bum, maybe not enough to full combo the 2 and ult now?
Scylla - minor nerf to crush - you now can't insta cast it directly next to you, it has a 0.5s travel time minimum now. It might be possible to go near her now (it's not).

Fenrir - buffs to ult damage and phys power buff from his 2 at later levels. Neither really game changing, think you still want to level 3 > 1 > 2 > 4, or 2 before 1 if you want the life steal from scratchies.

Bacchus - reduced mana for his 1 - yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Khumba - Slight nerf to the duration of his mez. You will still be mezzed for most of the game though. Was expecting an inrease on the cooldown as well tbh.


Items:

New stacking item which adds phys power, magic def and cdr - looks crazy good for warriors for the price, but obviously wont be available in assault.

A few changes to the existing items in the 'shield' tree for phys gods. Nothing too major here though. Shield of regrowth might be more attractive for the price, but I'm not sure it will be worth picking up still.

Poly nerfed for the 373rd time. Now does 50% magic damage, rather than 85%. The end of poly?
